Description
39 foot Houseboat for sale which has been converted from the hull of a beautiful Hartley 39 yacht.
Very spacious inside with 6?2? of headroom and a beam of 11?3?.
Professionally built from Ferro cement, the hull is extremely strong, watertight and soundproof, it?s also immune from the usual hull issues such as rust, rot and osmosis.
I bought the boat as an empty hull about 16 months ago and have tried to add most of the essentials to make it as liveable and comfortable as possible for all seasons.
There is still lots to be done, but it?s already a very cosy and ready to live in home.
There are no leaks and the boat is a nice steady 25 degrees inside with the coal burner going, even during the coldest weather.
Boat includes:
?Boat safety certificate valid until September 2023
?Multi-fuel burner with range oven
?Thetford Aspire gas cooker with 4 hobs, grill and oven

?Tarpaulins, 20l water and diesel drums and other useful everyday items such as paint, wood, spare carpet tiles, foam off cuts, etc
All useful sailing deck fittings are still attached for mooring purposes.
There are no mast, sails or rigging for this boat.
Powered by a 4 cylinder 44hp Perkins 4108 diesel engine.
It has a 40l fuel tank.
The engine runs well, but requires a new starter motor solenoid.
It has a brand new alternator fitted.
Thames river licence is just under ?400 a year for this boat and insurance is ?75 a year, but these are the only regular bills you get.
I live with my spoilt Akita on the boat and have sacrificed the area I had designated for a shower room, and I built dog stairs instead.
The stairs could easily be removed for fitting a shower and the waste water could be exited via the bilge and current bilge pump, the bilge is a large hollow keel space so plenty of room for shower water.
You could also use the nearby leisure centre for showering/swimming which has a monthly swimming pass for a little over ?20 per month.
The hull paint above the waterline is a bit scruffy but it doesn?t affect the integrity or water tightness in anyway.
I have recently painted the top of the boat so that is tidy, weather protected and ready for winter.
Pictures taken in May 2020 so the carpet is not quite as bright and new anymore, but it only takes 20 tiles to replace so I planned to renew the flooring after the muddy winter.
Moored on the riverbank in Walton on Thames, Surrey.
A cosy one bedroom, riverside home, for less than a years rent.
Gangplank, fenders, mooring ropes and beautiful view are included at no extra cost.
I am selling this as I have bought another boat that is a huge project and I would like to start it asap.
I am very open to sensible offers for a quick sale and would also consider a part exchange for a smaller boat, let me know what you have available and maybe we can work something out.
I am available for viewings every day, come and have a look and make me an offer.
